Project Overview
Montante Solar partnered with Niagara University to develop a 17-acre solar power farm, enhancing the university’s commitment to sustainability.
The array features 7,500 bifacial solar panels and a sun-tracking system to maximize energy production. Montante Solar secured seven variances with the Town of Lewiston to permit the project and overcame construction challenges with specialized ground screws and frames to support the system. The project also incorporates pollinator habitats beneath the panels, promoting biodiversity and enhancing the landscape. This system will save the university $50,000 annually and reduce CO2 emissions by 4,000 tons over the first decade, marking a significant step toward carbon neutrality.
