Project Overview
This project required overcoming some significant challenges, and Montante Solar was there to help.
We worked closely with the Town of Tonawanda to obtain permits and approvals for their first large-scale solar projects, helping to clear the way for future solar endeavors. Due to the sensitive topography, we also worked to obtain approvals from the Army Corps of Engineers to develop on a Federal wetland site. The site was formerly an Ashland Oil tank farm, which required challenge site work prior to installation.
Extensive Site Work
Removal of legacy oil tank farm foundations and infrastructure.
Wetlands Approval
Approved and permitted by the Army Corps of Engineers for Federal wetland development.
Municipal Approval
Town approval required for Tonawanda’s first large-scale solar array.
Tracker Array
The rack system moves with the sun to maximize production.
